The first semester of 2015-2016 was a busy, fun, action-packed 19 weeks. New equipment, new clients, new projects, and new students all created a very high-paced and non-stop working environment. We'd like to let you know what we have been up to and where we plan on going. We'd love if you took a couple moments to read about what we have been doing and look at some of the amazing work created.
We set a goal at the beginning of this year to bring in a total of $15,000 of revenue through various digital media jobs. To this point, we are at $10,763.78 and are on pace to reach our goal by the end of the year. This will be our biggest revenue year yet and put total revenue since the Foundation's initial grant to HBHS Photography at over $35,000. This money helps cover our operating costs, invest in new gear for the students to use and offer significant scholarships to our top students.
This year we had multiple returning clients and also added a few new ones:
-Boys Water Polo*
This semester we have a student in charge of business and community relations. Our goal has been to expand our services and reach beyond the walls of HBHS. Currently, we are working on getting student work showcased at local businesses by offering free prints to hang on their walls. We secured a donation of over $5,000 in gear from Tokina and are about to set up our first shoot with an ambassador (professional photographer) from Aquatech. We are also in the process of setting up a job program with a local photographer and HBHS alumni to hire our students part time to work in his studio. We hope to continue to expand these opportunities and build on our promising start to our Partners page.
